Asia Pacific Paleopathology Forum

Launching the Asia-Pacific Paleopathology Forum

Paleopathologists in Korea and Japan have held Japan-Korea paleopathology forum, hoping to launch a conference like the paleopathology meetings in the other continents someday in the future. After the 3rd K-J Paleopathology Forum (‘The Third Korea-Japan Paleopathology Forum’ in Paleopathology Newsletter. 2019. 187: 11-13), paleopathologists of Japan and Korea agreed to change our forum title to the Asia Pacific Paleopathology Forum (APPPF) and will open the door to researchers in other countries and continents. We hope to make this AP-PPF as an intermediate step to our final goal: Asia Pacific Meeting for Paleopathology Association. We, the paleopathologists of both countries therefore organized the Scientific Committee, which will be the host organization of next APPPF that will be held in Japan (2021). To collaborate with paleopathologists in the other continents, we also organized Scientific Committee and International Advisory Board of APPPF as follows:

Scientific Committee:
Hisashi Fujita (Niigata College of Nursing), Shinji Harihara (The University of Tokyo), Toshiyuki Tsurumoto (Nagasaki University), Soong Deok Lee (Seoul National University), Sunyoung Pak (Seoul National University), Dong Hoon Shin (Seoul National University).

International Advisory Board Members:
Jane Buikstra (Arizona State University, USA), Anne L. Grauer (Loyola University Chicago, USA), Karl Reinhard (University of Nebraska, USA), Niels Lynnerup (University of Copenhagen, Denmark), Piers Mitchell (University of Cambridge, UK), Frank Rühli (University of Zurich, Switzerland), Guido Lombardi (Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, PERU), Alena Mayo Iñiguez (Instituto Oswaldo Cruz FIOCRUZ, Brazil), Dario Piombino-Mascali (Vilnius University, Lithuania), Raffaella Bianucci (University of Warwick, UK).
